CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – One person is recovering after a shooting early Sunday morning in Carbondale.

Carbondale Police say they were called around 5:45 a.m. after shots were fired in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane.  By the time officers arrived, the victim had already been taken to the hospital by a friend.  They were treated and released.

Carbondale Police have not identified a suspect, but say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
