A rural Benton business was destroyed by fire Monday.

Heavy flames and smoke were seen coming out of Hey Carl’s bar around mid-afternoon. The entire structure had major fire, smoke and water damage.

The building is located on State Highway 14, east of Benton, near the Benton Country Club. The roadway was closed for a time Monday when firefighters were battling that blaze.
