CAIRO, Ill. (WJPF) – After a ribbon cutting Friday morning, Cairo residents will be able to shop in town for groceries for the first time in about 7 years.

The Rise Community Market will open at 10:00 a.m. Friday and will be a co-op type of store.

The grocery store was completed through a public-private partnership, including tax dollars from adult-use cannabis sales.
