After a tournament opening loss last Thursday, the John A. Logan College Baseball team went on a tear over the weekend to claim the Region 24 Championship.

The Vols lost a stunner Thursday in a 5-3 game against Rend Lake College, sending them to the Loser’s Bracket.

On Friday, the Vols started the day out against SWIC with a 10-6 victory.  They got revenge on Rend Lake later that afternoon, run-ruling the Warriors in five innings, 10-0.

Saturday, the Vols faced Kaskaskia – who had not lost once in the double-elimination tournament.  The Vols won 12-5 in game one before claiming a 9-2 victory to defeat Kaskaskia and win the Region 24 Tournament.

Logan (43-15, 21-6) continues their season later this week in Centerville, Iowa at the Midwest District Tournament.  Their first game will be against conference foe Wabash Valley at Noon on Wednesday.
