Ambulance service reaches agreement with U.S.

A Marion ambulance company has agreed to pay more than $300,000 in a civil agreement.

Health One Critical Care Transport Service/Medic One Response of Marion faced allegations they improperly billed Medicare for scheduled, non-emergency ambulance transportation.

The Medicare program paid MedicOne hundreds of dollars per round trip taking patients to dialysis treatments. To resolve the allegations, MedicOne will pay the United States government $302,124 for claims submitted to Medicare between April 2016 and January 2020.
