Missouri man charged with purposefully causing I-24 crash

PADUCAH, Ky. (WJPF) – A Missouri man has been charged with intentionally causing a deadly crash last month on Interstate 24 near Paducah.

Jared King, 44, faces charges of murder, first-degree wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, driving on a suspended license and failure to yield to the right of way.

Police say on April 28, King intentionally steered a pickup truck into the opposing lanes of traffic, hitting a tractor trailer. The crash caused a chain reaction involving two more vehicles. Tammy King, a 51-year-old passenger in the pickup, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
