Domestic battery arrest made after Jackson County manhunt

 

AVA, Ill. (WJPF) – A dog, a drone, and an airplane were all used to locate a man accused of a domestic battery.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says at about 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, they received a report about an alleged domestic incident. When deputies arrived at the rural Ava home, the suspect, Ryan Owens, had already left. Deputies searched the area on foot before using a drone, calling in a K-9 Unit from the Carbondale Police Department, and even an Illinois State Police airplane.

Ryan Owens was located at about 9:00 p.m. Tuesday. He’s been charged with aggravated domestic battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated battery, and interfering with the report of domestic violence.

Owens was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
