Former Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan to be arraigned Wednesday

CHICAGO, Ill. (WJPF) – Former Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan will face arraignment in federal court Wednesday.

The 79-year-old won’t actually step foot inside a courtroom, the judge has ordered the hearing to be held over the telephone.

Madigan was indicted last week on 22 counts, including racketeering, bribery, and extortion. 

Madigan has denied any wrongdoing.
