Plummer bill requires no pay from private parties

Saying private dollars shouldn’t be paying public employees, an Illinois state lawmaker has introduced legislation which would prevent Gov. J.B. Pritzker from paying state employees out of his pocket on top of what taxpayers already pay.

Pritzker doles out $1.5 million a year to subsidize the salaries of 15 employees in his administration. State Sen. Jason Plummer’s bill provides that no state employee may receive compensation from any private party for their work for the state of Illinois.
