SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) – 183,722 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Illinois last week, with 746 additional deaths.

At last check, 6,054 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 972 patients were in the ICU and 560 were on ventilators.

Southern Illinois’ test positivity rate is now at 18.9%.

More than 74% of the state’s adult population have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, 65% are fully vaccinated, and almost 49%are  boosted.
