CHICAGO, Ill (WJPF) — Illinois House Majority Leader Greg Harris says he’ll retire when his current term is up.

Harris, a Chicago Democrat, has served as a state representative for the past fifteen years and was the first openly gay person in Illinois history to be in legislative leadership.

Harris has served as majority leader since 2019.
