POPE COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — A man is recovering after a weekend fall in the Shawnee National Forest.

Authorities say the man slipped and fell between 40 to 50 feet Saturday at Burden Falls.

The man broke multiple bones in the fall, but is expected to recover.
