Dense fog blamed for White County crash

WHITE COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — Tuesday morning’s fog is being blamed for at least one traffic crash in White County.

It happened at about 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Route 144 and U.S. 45.

Illinois State Police say Scott Berry, 44, was travelling west on Route 144 when he failed to see the stop sign, drove through the intersection, left the road, and overturned.

Berry was taken to an area hospital and cited for disobeying a stop sign.
