MARION, Ill. (WJPF) — Williamson County Circuit Clerk Austin Crabb has resigned her position following a DUI arrest early Thursday morning.

According to the Williamson County Republican Party, Crabb admitted to the arresting officer that she had been drinking in her office at the courthouse.

No one was injured in the incident. Crabb posted bond and was released. She’ll appear in court next month.

Crabb, a Republican, was elected Williamson County Circuit Clerk in November 2020, defeating incumbent Democrat Andrew Wilson.
