Ball, Powell to appear on April ballot

MARION, IL. (WJPF) – A pair of electoral boards have determined that candidates for mayor and city commissioner in Marion can remain on the April ballot.

Wednesday’s hearings were to determine if Dennis Ball and Jason Powell met residency requirements put in place by the state board of elections. Objections had been filed against their campaigns, claiming that neither man lived within city limits for a full year before the April election date.

After deliberating, both boards found in favor of both candidates. Meaning Ball and Powell will appear on the April ballot.
